Mastering Photography: Your Complete Guide for Great Photo Shoots

Every photo needs to be planned in advance so we can have a great time during the shoot. You need to be mentally and physically ready and follow the poses or routines we planned for you.

  1. A workout plan is important. It's a set of exercises you do or teach. Choose exercises you can do well before starting.

  2. I suggest avoiding poses that your body isn't comfortable with because it'll look strained in the photo.

  3. What should you wear? Many clients ask and I'm happy to advise. Choose clothes that fit well to highlight your muscles and bring different outfits for changes. Have easy-to-change outfits for remote locations. I suggest wearing colorful or patterned outfits that stand out from the background. Try to avoid wearing black because it doesn't show shadows well in photos taken outdoors.

  4. Yoga/Exercise Mats - You need these if your feet/hands are sensitive.

  5. Use minimal and natural-looking makeup.

  6. Hair comes in different amounts. If your long hair gets in the way, use a hairband or hairpin to keep it off your beautiful face during yoga.

  7. Location and weather play a crucial role in successful photo sessions. Choose a spot you feel connected to for outdoor photos. Even on rainy days, keeping a happy and playful attitude can lead to great opportunities!

If you have big windows, we can use natural light, or studio light in an indoor gym, so the weather matters.

SAFETY

It is imperative to me that you understand that no photo is worth physically hurting yourself. So be careful on your feet, don't overtrain your body, and remember to smile.

KEEPING HIGH SPIRITS REALLY HELPS

Stay positive, the weather is unpredictable, roads can close, and unexpected things can happen outside.

Get excited!

It's enjoyable to take pictures, so enjoy it!

TRUST YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

It's good to have clear expectations and talk about what kind of photos you want before the shoot. Trust me and remember why you chose me as your photographer. Please don't ask to see every picture during the shoot; it takes up valuable time.
