About Me: A Photographer Who Loves Telling Stories
Hi, I’m Sam Peel, a professional photographer based in Northamptonshire, UK. My passion? Creating impactful, story-driven visuals that connect people with brands, spaces, and experiences.
My Photography Journey
My creative path began not with a camera, but with art and illustration. I’ve always been fascinated by how images can shape emotions and tell stories. That curiosity soon led me to explore photographym, first capturing family, weddings, and travel, often turning my own kitchen into a makeshift darkroom.
That spark turned into something bigger: I earned a Master’s in Photographic Communication, taught photography at colleges and universities, and eventually built Welly Pictures, a space where creativity and professionalism come together.

A Few Fun Facts About Me
My favourite coffee order: a latte (fuel for editing marathons!).
I’m a huge fan of travel photography, as I see every new place as a story waiting to be told.
I love blending creative styling into shoots, from food setups to lifestyle scenes.
Collaboration is at the heart of my work, as I thrive on bringing clients’ visions to life.
Lastly if I am not with my camera I am taking in the nature while paddling down the river to relax and refresh

“I served in the Royal Navy from 1961 until I left in 1972, but I hadn't got a portrait photograph of myself before I left , so I contacted Sam and asked her to come to my home, and take some pictures of me in my uniform, (I want to add them to my memoirs I'm writing after losing my wife recently) Sam had no hesitation, and came with all her equipment, and took my photos, although I have aged 52 years, no one would know ?????
Sam is very professional, and gave me plenty of confidence in getting the right shot.
I would certainly recommend Sam for anyone wanting portrait photos, whether individual, or maybe a family group.
