Food Photography FAQ | Professional Services in Northamptonshire
Everything you need to know before we get cooking.
I believe in clear communication and zero guesswork. If you have a question that isn't covered below, feel free to drop me a message I’m always happy to chat.
The logistics: timing & scheduling
How long does a typical food shoot take?
Most restaurant and café sessions last between 1 and 6 hours, depending on the size of your menu. For complex commercial brand or packaging projects, we might look at a full day (or more) to ensure every detail is pixel-perfect.
Can I reschedule if things get hectic?
Absolutely. I know hospitality life is unpredictable. If you need to move our session, just give me at least one week’s notice so I can offer the slot to someone else and find a new time that works for you.
Can you shoot while we are open for service?
Yes! I’m an expert at being the "invisible guest." I can adapt to your kitchen workflow and dining room layout with minimal disruption. However, for large interior refreshes, I usually recommend a quiet weekday morning.
The creative: style & deliverables
What’s actually included in a photography package?
You aren't just getting "photos." Every package includes:
Creative planning: A mood board and shot list so we’re aligned.
On-site styling: Using my "Welly Kit" to make your food look its best.
Professional editing: Hand-polished images that match your brand’s vibe.
Usage rights: Full commercial rights for your website, social media, and print.
Will the images be ready for my website and Instagram?
100%. I deliver every gallery in two formats: High-Res (perfect for menus and print) and Web-Optimised (ready to upload to social media and your site without slowing it down).
Do you offer "Behind the Scenes" content?
Yes, and I highly recommend it! Authentic "action" shots of your chefs and team are brilliant for building trust on Reels and Stories. We can build BTS clips into any of my packages.
The specialisms: brands & hotels
Do you do photography for food brands and packaging?
I do. I create clean, commercial imagery designed for retail listings, Amazon, and product packaging. This usually involves a more technical setup to ensure your product looks "Hero" quality on the shelf.

Can you shoot for large hotels or resorts?
Definitely. I specialize in capturing the full "Hospitality Story", blending high-end food and beverage shots with architectural interiors and lifestyle imagery to showcase the entire guest experience.

The business side: booking & travel
How do I secure my date?
It’s easy. For projects under £300, I ask for full payment upfront to lock in the date. For projects over £300, a 50% deposit gets you officially in my diary, with the balance due on the day of the shoot.
Do you charge for travel?
I’m based in Northampton (NN3) and travel for free within a 10-mile radius. For locations further afield across Northamptonshire or the UK, I charge a simple mileage fee of £0.45 per mile.
