Still Life Photography I One-to-One Photography Tuition in Northamptonshire
Still life photography is an art form where objects are arranged on a flat surface to create a thoughtful composition. This genre has existed since ancient times and remains widely popular in social media, advertising, and commercial use today.
Types of Still Life Photography
There are many types of still life photography. Personally, I enjoy food photography, as it allows me to create tabletop-style compositions for clients and enjoy the results afterward. Other styles include found-object photography, which leans more toward fine art, and product photography, which is often commercial in nature.
Do you like any of these types of still-life photography?
I personally enjoy food photography as I get to eat it afterwards. I also shot food photography for clients and I use tabletop-style food photography.
I honestly think that most of you who are reading this post have probably completed food, tabletop and found object type of still life photography. Product photography is more commercial photography and the found object still life type links towards fine art photography.

Why Take Still Life Photographs?
Still life photography is one of the most common types used online and in marketing. Every time you photograph an object, meal, or project, you are practicing still life photography, often without realizing it. Social media, websites, TV adverts, and billboards all feature these compositions.
The key purpose of still life photography is to convey meaning through the arrangement of objects, colours, and textures, inviting engagement from viewers. Whether for commercial use, social media, or fine art, the way you position items in a scene has a significant impact on the viewer’s perception.
