The ‘Let it go’ list!

Before the end of 2022, I had a 1:1 meeting with Anna Wood. During this meeting, we discussed her business ethos and motto, which I loved listening to. She has a fantastic ethos and a brilliant way to help and support other businesses. After this meeting, I asked her if she could write down key points about her ‘Let it go’ list.

Do you write lists? Do you keep a list of what you still need to complete?

I know I do, but after reading Anna's information below, I will create my own ‘Let it go’ list.

KEEP READING AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

Let’s start.....

One of the biggest things that affects business owners is the feeling of being overwhelmed. We have big visions and dreams, but fear kicks in and ideas sometimes feel too big and overwhelming. This feeling can also kick in when you agree to multiple things. Especially for those with a ‘can-do attitude’, which can be your greatest strength or hindrance. You feel like anything is possible, but you can take on more than you can realistically handle. This can lead to feelings of not achieving, not succeeding, guilt, frustration and other negative feelings.

Does this sound familiar?

Realistically, it’s probably only 5-10 things at the most. However, when they are in your head, it can feel like a million, and to make things more unpleasant, we even tell ourselves that!

“I have a million things to do today."

Sometimes we just need to let it all go!

  1. Firstly, language is so critical. We are what we say, and we feel what we think and say. Being aware of your language is crucial. When you start writing your list, you may notice the things you add, and then fall into beat-yourself-up mode! Try not to beat yourself up and turn this into a celebration or praise.

    High five yourself!

    Dance around the room!

Awareness is one of the biggest hurdles, as you can’t change what you don’t know about.

Secondly, letting go can reduce that stressed-out feeling. You will need to write 'I'm letting go of' on your paper at the top.

I love delegation, so I like to delegate to the universe. You can simply write ‘I’m letting go’ or you can delegate, for example, the universe, god, spirit, source, Easter Bunny, Santa, the next-door neighbour’s cat, and then take action for it!

Write everything swirling around in your head! You’ll be surprised at how this alone brings relief. An additional point to make is that this is not a to-do list to become overwhelmed with and/or beat yourself up for not completing! If you want to take it one step further, you can look at the things you can and can’t control, and make two separate lists.

They can’t control the list - get rid of it! Tear it up! You can’t control it, so do not waste your time.

The things you can control focus on one thing to start, making sure you’re being super realistic. For example, creating your own website is not a do-it-in-one-day task!

It's imperative to focus on one thing that you can easily complete, so that you feel in control. Then, when that’s done do the next thing and carry on.

Thank you for reading this blog. Remember that before you know it, that overwhelming feeling will pass and action will be taken. Have a go at forming your own ‘Let it go’ list and see if this method helps with your own stress levels and well-being in 2023.
